Map

'Well, at least it looks like a map this time.'

I realised that I was never going to keep this up-to-date so I have simplified the written part of it. Phew! That's better.

Bio

'Bio' means, not very originally, 'biography'. It's a fairly standard sort of one. This is not the place to look for dark secrets. I'm not that daft, am I? Click HERE to see it.

Doing Things

As the name suggests, this page is a pointer for those who want to get involved. Usually that would be a polite way of saying 'those with itchy keyboard fingers, start here'. But this time it's also an invitation to exercise your fine singing voice. Click HERE if you think you fall into either category or if you are just wondering what on Earth I'm on about.

Guests, More Guests and Even More Guests.

There is a large number of fine writers on these parts of the site, both from the UK and from overseas. They have all been 'hand picked' and I am grateful to them all for allowing their work to be used.

Languages Other Than English

This may interest linguists. There are languages both widely and less known here.

More Words

This is the equivalent of most writers' sites that you'll see. If you can stand it, the sections include Card Sharps, a poltical essay, The Pinko Songbook, political song lyrics that will infuriate or maybe (maybe) amuse, More Poems to show that I'm far from immune to the grumpier kind of poetry myself, and The Stray Archive and Words on Words, compilations of columns that have appeared in the late lamented Cambrensis magazine.

Music

The music section of this site includes... well, er, music. By others, you'll be relieved to learn.

Other Stuff

I have called this the 'miscellaneous' part of the site. Other Stuff is a rag-bag of things like there are Captions which gives me a chance show my respect for those in the public eye; Glo's Page, a chance for you to say something about books you've read and Essays and Articles.

Other Other Stuff

Other Other is an even raggier bag. It defies sane description so I won't even try, I'll just list some of the things on it: Bells and Whistles; Boring Postcards; and Hear a Poem.

Another Other

Another Other has been added as a companion section to the above (they get lonely, you'll understand). Contents include The Battle of Maldon (a fragment of the poem in the original Anglo-Saxon and a sound file part of it being read in that language and a Dic Penderyn page.

Publications

There are actually three bits to this site. They are called, not very originally, Publications I, Publications II and Publications III. In my wider moments I call the last Latest Publications.

Quiz

For those who like an intellectual challenge and the chance to win glittering prizes, go somewhere else. But there's a Quiz here that's at least changed every few months. Why, I don't know.

Stray Thoughts

This column, published in Cambrensis magazine for five years or so until its closure in July, 2006. If you are a historian, there is a link on this page to the Stray Archive.

Triolet

This extensive section on both formal and free verse now includes Trioletters, where people can say their bit. There are separate pages devoted to the Sonnet, the Villanelle, and many more, including of course the Triolet. There are pages on Literary Terms and on free verse. If you are looking at this section for the first time, may I suggest that A Note on Free and Formal Verse should be the first thing you look at after the section's main page.

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts section is devoted to those who celebrate their art graphically. There are biographies and pictures from seven painters, two photographers, and one cartoonist, and one potter.

What's New

The What's New page is simply to draw attention to the newest seven or eight additions or revisions to this web site. By that I mean the major additions or revisions. Not the tweaks and fiddlings about that go on all the time.
